The Run 4 Cancer Team Walk yet again!

Run 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

After a bit of a break to allow their poor old bodies to recover from previous exploits, Chris Roberts, Chets Modi and Sean Donovan have decided to dust off their walking boots and sign up for another 3 Ultra Walks in 2018. The first is The Cotswolds Way Challenge on the weekend of 30th June/1st July. Now this is a really tough challenge (the head of the group who organise this walk say it’s their hardest one in the UK!) It’s a very hilly 100km trek which they are hoping to complete within 24 hours. Sean says: "This was before we realised that it was going to be one of the hottest weekends of the year! There will be lots of sweat, some tears and probably more blisters. Cancer is something that affects far too many people and if, by raising some much needed funds to provide respite for sufferers and their families, we can manage to put a smile on the faces of a few people then our efforts will be rewarded!"

This time around we are joined by Brett Green. Now Brett is normally to be seen on a bike, riding at high speed up and down hills so this will be a very different challenge for him and we’re looking forward to spending 24 hours in his company - whether he feels the same at the end of it remains to be seen!
