Run 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer.

We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.

Rough Runner - Oxfordshire

  • Saturday 19 May 2018

Rough Runner is an obstacle course challenge, combining distance running with a variety of obstacles along the way, each inspired by game shows such as Total Wipeout, Takeshi’s Castle, Gladiators, and Fun House. Expect sweeper arms, giant pigeon battles, big balls and yes, The Travelator!

Rough Runner at the Great Tew Estate has been a favourite event in the running calendar for 3 years, with the most picturesque backdrop, varied terrain and atmospheric runners’ village you can come by.

The venue makes for an awesome running route, and as always, every level of fitness is catered for, so there's a 5km route with around 10 obstacles, a 10km route with 15, and all 20 obstacles in the 15km route for those who are looking for the toughest challenge. Everyone who takes part will also get to fulfil that childhood dream and cross the Travelator at the finish line.
