Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for families affected by cancer.
We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
This year's Shrewsbury Half Marathon will take place on Sunday the 18th of June 2017.
The historical and picturesque town of Shrewsbury is a great running location and the course incorporates some of the town's greatest land marks.
What's more, the route is completely closed to traffic for the duration of the race!
The new course heads into Shropshire's beautiful countryside for the first 4 miles before heading back towards town. You will then run through Shrewsbury town centre, past St Chads church, Shrewsbury Cathedral and the Quarry.
Large crowds are expected to line the route through The Quarry and the town centre, which will be shut off to traffic for the races' duration. The event will start and finish at the Shropshire agricultural showground.
