Amber’s Two Marathon Challenge

17 August 2018

On Sunday the 2 September 2018, Amber Southern will take part in the Hamsterley Forest Marathon and then on Sunday 14 October she will take part in the Yorkshire Marathon. That’s two marathons in less than six weeks! Amber will be running in support of Run 4 Cancer.

Commenting on her challenges, Amber said:

“My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma two years ago. Given a life expectancy of 12 months to live, life changed in an instant. However, thanks to immunotherapy, he’s still here and cancer free. I know how hard it is on a family living with cancer, especially a terminal diagnosis. Making memories are so important as you just don’t know how long you have left. I love running and I’m always looking for the next challenge whilst giving back to an amazing charity that help so many people in the same position as us. This time its two marathons (trail and road) within 6 weeks of each other!” Thank you so much.” Shelley

Please sponsor Amber and leave your words of encouragement below! Thanks very much.

Run 4 Cancer – About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
