Diana Runs In Memory Of Her Dad
29 April 2013
On the 22nd of September 2013, Run 4 Cancer Ambassador Diana Cordingley-Clark will be running the New Forest Marathon in aid of Run 4 Cancer. This will be Diana’s first ever marathon! Three miles of the 13.2 mile course is ‘off-road’ along forest trails, thereby making this a challenging first marathon.
To prepare for the ‘Big One’, Diana is embarking upon a gruelling training schedule which includes 10Km runs, obstacle course challenges and a half marathon!
Commenting on her challenge Diana said:
I am running the New Forest Marathon on 22nd September in memory of my wonderful Dad who sadly lost his battle with cancer on 18th May 2013.
When I initially signed up for my first marathon Dad had just been diagnosed with cancer for the second time in his life, after beating it once in 2009. The idea was he would be there cheering me over the finish line but now he’s hopefully going to be pushing me round in spirit.
I grew up in the New Forest and hope this will be an advantage for the challenge. In the lead up to the run I have quite a few events to help with my training, The Hurt 12km trail run on 6th July, the Surrey Badger Half Marathon on 14th July, and the Spartan Sprint on 25th August. I completed Tough Mudder on the 8th June.
I will be supporting Run 4 Cancer, raising as much money for them as possible. Please sponsor me!
Diana
