Doctors Tackle The London Triathlon

On Saturday 4 August 2018, Dr Tim Sirry, Dr Katie Anterson and Dr Gabor Halmos will be joining many others taking part in the London Triathlon. Given each of the three medics work in the field of gynaecology, the team are adopting the name ‘The Super Gynaecology Team!’
The AJ Bell London Triathlon takes place at the ExCeL Centre, Royal Victoria Dock and has a unique urban route, that allows participants to swim, bike and run past the iconic landmarks of the capital. Tim will be cycling, Katie will be swimming and Gabor will be running!
Commenting on the challenge the three doctors said:
“This is going to be an amazing challenge and we simply cannot wait. Given the proven link between exercise and cancer, it’s important that we all keep as active as possible. So we encourage everyone to get out there! Why not try entering the London Triathlon next year yourselves! Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
