Belfast City Half Marathon 2026
The Belfast City Half Marathon, sponsored by Phoenix Energy is the biggest Half Marathon event in Northern Ireland. The event has experienced massive growth in recent years and now regularly sells out very early.

The Route
The Belfast City Half Marathon starts and finishes on the Ormeau Embankment near Ormeau Park in south Belfast. After the start, the route winds out into the east of the city (passing areas close to Victoria Park), before heading through central Belfast. From the city centre, runners continue through the west, including along Falls Road. The route then returns via the south of the city and heads back to Ormeau Embankment to finish.
Free Race Entry
We have a number of free and subsidised places to give away. All we ask is that you try to raise some sponsorship funds in support of Run 4 Cancer. We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people. Free Places For Cancer Patients
Given the importance of exercise in both helping to prevent cancer and to assist in recovery post diagnosis, Run 4 Cancer also has a small number of places to give away to people in recovery. If you have received a cancer diagnosis in the past five years and would like to take part in one of the New Forest events we would love to hear from you.

Run 4 Cancer - About Us
Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
