Essar Chester Half Marathon 2027

The Chester Half Marathon is one of the longest established events in the UK, and such is the prestige of the event, it hosts the England Athletics Age Group Half Masters Championship.

The Route

A fast, flat course that is popular with runners sees the start at the Chester Racecourse before heading out through the Walls into the City of Chester where history is literally all around you. Runners can expect a crescendo of noise as they head to the finish line, located outside the Town Hall – right in the heart of the city!

We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people. Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
