AJ Bell Great North Run 10km 2026
The AJ Bell Great North 10k transforms ordinary people into local heroes. This year’s event will take place on an exciting new course, passing some of Newcastle’s most iconic sights. Expect a party atmosphere, incredible support and an unbeatable sense of achievement at the finish line, this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.

The Route(s)
The Half Marathon takes runners past Nottingham’s famous landmarks including Victoria Embankment, the River Trent, Nottingham Castle, the Robin Hood Statue, the Nottingham Park Estate and Wollaton Park where you’re bound to spot some deer roaming. The massively popular traffic free 13.1 mile (21.1km) course is laid out as a single lap.
The Mini Marathon is a 1.5-mile (2.5 km) fun run designed for people of all ages and abilities. It’s an excellent opportunity for families and beginners to enjoy and soak up the amazing ‘race day’ atmosphere that the event is famous for.
Whatever the distance, all runners will be met at the finish line by huge cheering crowds!

We have a number of subsidised places available. All we ask is that you raise a minimum of £250.00 sponsorship funds in support of Run 4 Cancer. We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people. Run 4 Cancer - About Us
Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
