Wizz Air Milano Marathon 2027
Originally known as the Milano City Marathon, the Milano Marathon has been held annually since 2000. Designed as a full 42.195 km road race through the Italian city of Milan, the first nine editions the race took place in November. However, since 2010 the event has taken place in April which has proved to be hugely popular.
Join Run 4 Cancer for one of Europe’s classic marathons – or should we say “classico!” The Milano Marathon is special because it combines a fast, modern and beautiful urban course with the cultural richness of one of Europe’s most iconic cities. Over 10,000 runners take part every year creating a truly special atmosphere. Belissimo!

The Route
The Milan Marathon takes runners on a tour of the city’s major landmarks. The flat and fast single loop course starts and finishes near the iconic Porta Venezia. After the start, the course heads past the Duomo, Sforza Castle, Arco della Pace and through Parco Sempione before moving into quieter residential districts and the modern CityLife area with its striking skyscrapers. Long straight sections, wide closed roads and a minimal elevation change make this race smooth and rhythm-friendly. Surrounded by a mix of historic and contemporary architecture, the Milan course is designed for strong pacing and promises potential for a personal best!

We have a number of free and subsidised places available. All we ask is that you try to raise some sponsorship funds in support of Run 4 Cancer. We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people.

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
