New Forest Marathon 2026
The New Forest Marathon was the brainchild of Mick Manley and first run in 1983. A race for all abilities, the event offers a Junior Race, 5K, 10K, Half and Full Marathon. The race starts and finishes in a purpose built Race Village in the heart of the New Forest. Runners are welcomed home to live music from the main stage in the chill out zone. There is a kids activity area, a well stocked runners ‘trade village’ and much much more. Consistently listed in the UK’s Top Five Races, this is more than just a marathon! Run 4 Cancer is one of the race’s Official Charities.

The Route
The multi-terrain course offers one of the most scenic running experiences in the country. A stunning blend of forest enclosures, an old railway line, open roads, far reaching views and of course the famous New Forest ponies. The 5k, 10k and Half are flat courses that wind through the beautiful New Forest National Park. The Full Marathon undulates in places and offers one of the most stunning courses in the UK. There are both PB’s and incredible memories to be made here!
Free Race Entry
As one of the event’s Official Charities, we have a number of free and subsidised places to give away. All we ask is that you try to raise some sponsorship funds in support of Run 4 Cancer. We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people. Free Places For Cancer Patients
Given the importance of exercise in both helping to prevent cancer and to assist in recovery post diagnosis, Run 4 Cancer also has a number of places to give away to people in recovery. If you have received a cancer diagnosis in the past five years and would like to take part in one of the New Forest events we would love to hear from you.

Run 4 Cancer - About Us
Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
