Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026

This race was set up in memory of Rob Burrow, the former Leeds Rhinos rugby player who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 2019. The first race saw 10,000 people take part, cementing its place not only in the race calendar, but in the heart of the community.

The Route

Starting and finishing at the AMT Headingley Stadium, the route heads past Woodhouse Moor before heading north, taking in Meanwood, Golden Acre Park, and Pool before turning for home at Otley.

Run 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
