Robin Hood Half Marathon 2026
The Robin Hood Half Marathon and smaller ‘Mini Marathon’ continue to grow and remain incredibly popular, celebrating Nottingham’s link to Robin Hood.
The Robin Hood Half Marathon is perfect for first time competitors or seasoned runners who are looking to set personal bests. As its name suggests, many people choose to dress up as ‘Robin Hood’ in memory of the famous man in tights who lived in nearby Sherwood Forest!
The Robin Hood Half Marathon, sometimes called the Nottingham Half Marathon, is one of the longest-running and most popular city centre road races in the UK. A true Nottingham favourite, it’s also the city’s biggest charity fundraising event.

The Route(s)
The Half Marathon takes runners past Nottingham’s famous landmarks including Victoria Embankment, the River Trent, Nottingham Castle, the Robin Hood Statue, the Nottingham Park Estate and Wollaton Park where you’re bound to spot some deer roaming. The massively popular traffic free 13.1 mile (21.1km) course is laid out as a single lap.
The Mini Marathon is a 1.5-mile (2.5 km) fun run designed for people of all ages and abilities. It’s an excellent opportunity for families and beginners to enjoy and soak up the amazing ‘race day’ atmosphere that the event is famous for.
Whatever the distance, all runners will be met at the finish line by huge cheering crowds!

We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people. Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
