Run Alton Towers 2026
Run 4 Cancer at Alton Towers, the UK’s biggest theme park, for a truly unique half marathon, 10K, 5K and children’s 1.5K. Starting and finishing within the Alton Towers Theme Park, this is an event for the entire family. Open to all abilities, you can take part in a chip timed race and earn yourself a unique themed medal. BUT what makes this event really special is that you can enjoy all the incredible rides at the park after the event… all included in your race entry!

The Route(s)
Half Marathon (Sunday): An undulating two lap course which starts and finishes outside the historic Towers. The route takes runners past many of the theme park’s most iconic rides including TH13TEEN, Rita, X-Sector, Oblivion, The Smiler and Nemesis Reborn. After the second lap, it’s time to enjoy all the rides!
10K (Saturday): The 10K route utilises the same course as the half marathon but instead of two loops 10K runners only complete one loop.
5K (Sunday): A shorter version of the popular 10K loop which still takes in many of Alton Tower’s most famous rides.
Children’s 1.5K (Saturday): Starting in Cbeebies Land and finishing outside the Towers, this fun course follows a path around the rides where family and friends can cheer you and your children on!

Run 4 Cancer - About Us
Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
