Run Bournemouth 2026
Run Bournemouth is one of the largest running events in the UK, with over 15,000 runners and 100,000 spectators. Taking in both Boscombe and Bournemouth piers, this is coastal running as it should be!
With a number of different distances to choose from (Half Marathon, Supersonic 10km, Supersonic 5km) there are a number of junior events too (2km, 1.5km and 1km). The events take place over one weekend in October.

The Route(s)
Half Marathon (Sunday): The Bournemouth Half Marathon replaces the former Bournemouth Marathon which was discontinued after the pandemic. The course still incorporates the best elements of the old full marathon course and starts at the spectacular Hengistbury Head (near Christchurch). The course then makes its way along the cliff tops before dropping down on to the seafront. A brief climb just after the half-way point takes you back on to the overcliff path where runners will be presented with stunning views of Bournemouth Pier and Poole. The course then takes runners along both Boscombe and Bournemouth piers with the finish line on Bournemouth Pier Approach.
Supersonic 10km (Sunday): This fantastic flat and fast course is great for setting a quick time. Starting at the spectacular Hengistbury Head, the route makes its way along the cliff tops before dropping down onto the seafront. Uniquely, the course includes circuits on both Boscombe and Bournemough piers. Runners can expect a crowd packed finish on Bournemouth Pier Approach!
Supersonic 5km (Saturday): Starting in the early evening after the sun has gone down, this is a fantastic event for the whole family. Dress up in fluorescant clothing with flashing lights and run along Bournemouth Promenade. The course provides runners with a rare opportunity to run along the iconic Bournemouth Pier, which is lit up at dusk to create a beautiful spectacle for participants and spectators alike!

We have a number of subsidised places available. All we ask is that you try to raise some sponsorship funds in support of Run 4 Cancer. We set very low minimum sponsorship funds and fully understand that the cost of living crisis is impacting people’s ability to sponsor people. Run 4 Cancer - About Us
Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
