South Coast Ultra Challenge 2026

The South Coast Ultra Challenge is one of the greats! Choose from 100 Km, 50 Km and 25 Km routes. We have a range of free and subsidised charity places available. WALK IT, JOG IT or RUN IT!

The incredible beauty of the South Downs National Park provides a superb backdrop for this coastal challenge. Do you have what it takes to take on the South Coast Ultra?

Circa 2,000 ‘Challengers’ take part in this epic event event year which is superblly organised by our friends at which takes in the best of the South Downs National Park.

With shorter distances available, there really is a course for everyone! There are optional bus transfers to help people who want to tackle the shorter distances too.

Whatever the distance, you will experience some fantastic views along the way and some tough hills in between. All entrants enjoy full support and hospitality along the way.

The Route(s)

Starting in Eastbourne start, ‘challengers’ can expect stunning sea views for the first half of the 100 Km course. Climbning the magnificent Beachy Head and The Seven Sisters, the course follows the South Downs Way to Brighton (the half-way point). The second 50 Km course then heads to Devil’s Dyke before descending into the historic town of Arundel, a fitting end to an amazing 100 Km journey.

Run 4 Cancer - About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
