Yorkshire Marathon 2026
The Altra Yorkshire Marathon is one of the UK’s most popular autumn road races. Held annually in the historic city of York, the event attracts thousands of runners every year. Fom first-time marathoners to elite athletes, the Yorkshire Marathon is fast becoming one of Europe’s most popular marathons thanks to its scenic route, friendly atmosphere and superb organisation. An undulating course taking in ‘God’s Own County’, starts and finishes by the University of York campus.

The Route
Starting and finishing next to the impressive University of York campus, get set for 26.2 miles of undulation as you might expect from Yorkshire (the home of the Yorkshire Dales). In the first couple of miles, look for a glimpse of Yorkminster in the distance before heading out to Hazelbush Wood. At the half-way point runners pass Stamford Bridge before heading out to Dunnington. The course then loops back for the final six miles bringing runners back to the finish line.

Run 4 Cancer - About Us
Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We give families something to look forward to during the most difficult of times. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
