Lauren & Andrew Take On Snowdon

20 February 2018

On Saturday 27 October 2018, Lauren Draper and Andrew Summers will be joining other Run 4 Cancer supporters who are taking part in the Snowdonia Marathon.

Commenting on their challenge, Lauren and Andrew said:

“Snowdon marathon is widely known to be one of the ultimate challenges in the UK marathon scene. It has it all… adverse conditions, terrain and the word we hate ‘elevation’! We both run together with others on our Sunday morning runs. Andrew has definitely helped push me along to be a much faster runner over distance!

We both wanted to do something that represents a challenge as I’m always wanting to do something every year now! After last years Great Wall Challenge, the London Marathon and Snowdon are my big ones this year in the UK and first big one for Andrew! I think Andrew won’t mind the colder weather however I much prefer warm weather running!

It’s a challenge that can be overcome with persistence and commitment, in the same way that cancer can very definitely be as well!

Bringing us onto why we chose Run 4 Cancer. Like many others, we have both experienced the ravages of cancer in its many forms through losing close relatives and loved ones to the disease. Cancer can effect anyone at any time and is still one of those diseases we don’t know how to deal/react to. So please sponsor us for our marathon challenge and help us along the way to beating cancer! Thank you! Lauren and Andrew

Please sponsor Lauren and Andrew and leave your words of encouragement below! Thanks very much!

Run 4 Cancer – About Us

Set up by a team of running enthusiasts, all of whom have lost a family member or a friend to cancer, Run 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of days out and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. We also make grants to UK based care institutions and support research into the positive effects of exercise (e.g. running) and how it can help with cancer prevention and recovery.
